Must-See underrated movies on Netflix (Ca)

1. Short term 12
A supervisor (Brie Larson) at a group home for at-risk teens connects with a new resident (Kaitlyn Dever) while facing a personal crisis of her own. Love everything about this movie! Brie Larson is amazing and the story keeps you guessing.

2. Still Alice
Dr. Alice Howland (Julianne Moore) is a renowned linguistics professor at Columbia University. When words begin to escape her and she starts becoming lost on her daily jogs, Alice must come face-to-face with a devastating diagnosis: early-onset Alzheimer's disease. This is a heartbreaking movie that really makes you thankful for everything you have in life.

3. No Escape
American businessman Jack Dwyer (Owen Wilson), wife Annie and their two young daughters arrive in Southeast Asia to begin a new life. As his company plans to improve the region's water quality, the family quickly learns that they're right in the middle of a political uprising. This thriller keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

4. About Time
When Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson) is 21, his father (Bill Nighy) tells him a secret: The men in their family can travel through time. Although he can't change history, Tim resolves to improve his life by getting a girlfriend. Very cute and Rachel McAdams is in it!

5. McFarland
Track coach Jim White (Kevin Costner) is a newcomer to a predominantly Latino high-school in California's Central Valley. Coach White and his new students find that they have much to learn about one another, but things begin to change when White realizes the boys' exceptional running ability. Not your normal sports movie, but definitely heartwarming.

6. Big Daddy
Thirty-two-year-old Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler) has spent his whole life avoiding responsibility. But when his girlfriend dumps him for an older man, he's got to find a way to prove he's ready to grow up. In a desperate last-ditch effort, Sonny adopts 5-year-old Julian. An oldie but a goodie!

7. Radio
In a racially divided town, coach Jones (Ed Harris) spots a mentally disabled African-American student named Radio (Cuba Gooding Jr.) near his practice field and is inspired to befriend him. Everyone should see this movie--it will move you.

8. Elena Undone
The wife (Necar Zadegan) of a pastor who preaches against homosexuality embarks on an affair with a female writer (Traci Dinwiddie). I love this movie.
